초록

After Chukovskii, known as a literary critic and translater, released 『The Crocodile』on the recommendation of Goriky, the critics called him the father of children's literature, as an writer with an extraordinary talent for children's language. Although Chukovskii searched for children's language before he worked as a critic, he seems to have been planning to write a story for children, with a writer for children in mind. from the very beginning that started an activity as a writer. Fascinated by British traditional songs such as Nersery Rhyme, and Mother Goose, Chukovskii intensively studied on those genre of the poetics of British folklore. His research is concentrated in his book of 『from 2 to 5 years (От двух до пяти)』, which is a research on children's language. He focused on the importance of Russian classic fairy tale, such as ‘nonsense’, and the British nursery rhyme in his book.
In addition, Chukovskii translated the literary works of the world with C. Marshak in ‘World Literature’ under the initiative of the Goriky. The British literature was introduced in the form of adaptation or remaking, rather than translation in the development of the Russian children's literature. Considering the children of Russia, the name of the protagonist was changed into the Russian style, or the classic songs of the British was changed into the classic song of Russia.『Doctor Aibolit』of Chukovskii changed the name of the protagonist and adapting the content shown in『The Story of Doctor Dolittle』of British Hugh lofting in such same context.
Chukovskii was also influenced by the works through literary translation and also has transformed it. Due to the workings of translation, the writer is capable of productive exchange between languages. In addition, wider field of view obtained through the translation influence on not only people who speak one language and who read the article written in that language, but also writers who write in that language. In this sense, it is significant to study of the relation between the British children's literature and Chukovskii’s creation of works for children, translation and remake of children's literature.
