초록

The purpose of this study is to explore whether catholic youth's religiosity and well-being are different according to background variables, the relationship between catholic youth's religiosity and well-being and to examine how does a sub-scale of the catholic youth's religiosity influence a sub-scale of well-being.
The questionnaires to measure religiosity, subjective well-being, psychological well-being and social well-being were administrated to two-hundred ninety-five youths in archdiocese of Kwang-ju. Correlational analyses, Multivariate analysis of variance and stepwise regressions method were conducted to test research hypotheses.
The results of this study were summarized as follows. Religiosity and well-being aren't different according to gender and the number of believer in family. Religiosity was different according to gender and the number of believers in family. There was a significant difference in religiosity according to the period of religious belief, job, the number of group and friends in church. The result of regression analysis in subjective well-being showed that congregation activity as a sub-scale of religiosity was the significant predictor of subjective well-being. The result of regression analysis in sub-scales of psychological well-being showed that religion life and church attendance were significant predictors of self-acceptance, extrinsic religious orientation was a significant predictor of positive relations with others, extrinsic religious orientation and church attendance were significant predictors of autonomy, extrinsic religious orientation and church attendance and fidelity were significant predictors of environmental mastery, fidelity and extrinsic religious orientation were significant predictors of purpose in life, extrinsic religious orientation and intrinsic religious orientation were significant predictors of personal growth. The result of regression analysis in sub-scales of social well-being showed that religion life, intrinsic religious orientation and congregation activity were significant predictors of social integration, extrinsic religious orientation and congregation activity were significant predictors of social acceptance, extrinsic religious orientation was a significant predictor of social actualization, extrinsic religious orientation and church attendance were significant predictors of social coherence
